Fatima Shah

Life can be challenging at times, especially when you are dealing with difficult life events. However, if you find yourself in a situation where you feel like you can no longer cope or you even just need a little help in handling a major life event or life in general, counselling is an effective and proven way to help.

Counselling can offer a different perspective that can help you to verbalise your difficulties and can give you the opportunity to discuss and explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours and find ways to change and grow.

I will do my upmost best to offer you my genuine understanding, openness, and respect during our counselling relationship. I place great importance in ensuring all my clients are made to feel comfortable in my presence by providing a safe, secure and a non-judgmental environment.

I believe each person has their own unique perspective and to be able to work alongside and help my clients is personally very rewarding for me and gives me a great deal of fulfilment. I will listen and encourage you to identify ways to deal with the problem.

My aim is to empower and leave you with the tools you need, so you can improve the quality of your life and well-being.

I predominately draw upon Person Centered therapy, Behavioural therapy (CBT), and Psychoanalytic theory. My integrative style allows me to adapt in accordance with your needs, as I recognise the paradox of clients wanting some form of guidance and direction.

In addition, diverse life experiences and working within the field of mental health services inform my practice. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of emotional and Psychological distress including low mood, anxiety, confidence issue, phobias, self-harm, trauma, depression, sleep disturbance, bereavement, relationship problems, social anxiety, and work related issues.
